The 7th round of FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy has been organised in Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. World RX regulars offered an extremely high tempo races to rallycross enthusiasts during two race days. Week-long motorsports festival raised up to a World Class level with this action packed racing wonders.

As a supporting event to FIA WorldRX, RX Lites was included in the racing schedule in Trois Rivieres. However, as it was in last year’s programme, this round didnt give any points to RX Lites Cahmpionship. Instead, it was called RX Lites Intercontinental Cup while hosting some really talented and successful drivers from different racing classes.

Oliver Eriksson won the stand alone Intercontinental Cup after dominating the weekend. Young Swede started the race weekend by winning first two Heats and took the overnight lead. He continued his pace but with a more safe mode on remaining Heats. He managed to get the pole position as he did in last year’s event on final race but this time he made it to the top of the podium. This was his second outing in RX Lites 2015 season after PortugalRX and 17 year old Eriksson is a regular of RedBull Global Rallycross Championship of USA in GRC Lites.


French driver Cyril Raymond finished the race in second overall. This was the second time he drove an RX Lites after he joined the test day which was organised by First Corner in Istanbul, Turkey at the end of last year. Despite his Heat results was not so bright, he pushed the tempo on semis and won the Semi1 race. With the starting grid advantage, Raymond got a good pace and followed his team mate Eriksson from start to finish.


Canadian Nascar driver Andrew Ranger completed the podium by finishing third. As a host, Quebec born local star wanted to show his tricks to his guests but it took a while to get used to the feelings of RX Lites on Friday Heats. But on Saturday, Ranger started the day by winning both Heat3 and 4, finished the Semi1 just behind Raymond. He looked happy to get the trophy as a local host for the race weekend.

Joachim Hvaal was one of the most experienced RX Lites regular on the track and with this advantage he finished 4th overall in front of another regular from last year Alejandro Fernandez finisihing 5th. Another local hero, NASCAR-IndyCar celebrity Alex Tagliani finished in 6th place. Another Canadian driver Garett Grist and American Kyle Kaiser couldn’t make it to finals.


RX Lites Intercontinental Cup deserved its title by hosting drivers from different Championships and from 6 different countries including Canada, USA, Sweden, France, Colombia and Norway.

RX Lites 2015 Championship will continue its schedule in Norway end of this month. 8th round of FIA WorldRX will be organised in Hell, Norway on 22-23 of August.
