IN BRIEF: Cyril Raymond was untouchable in Red Bull Global Rallycross Lites action at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, using two victories in the doubleheader to take the points lead. Fellow title contender Christian Brooks added two podiums of his own as the points lead traded hands multiple times during the weekend.

SATURDAY RECAP: Cyril Raymond was the class of the field from start to finish on Saturday, qualifying first, winning both of his heats and semifinal, and taking the main event for his first victory on American soil. The runner-up in Memphis, Raymond recovered from a rollover in Louisville on the final lap to give Olsbergs MSE X Forces its first win of the season.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing locked out the other two spots on the podium, with Christian Brooks and Travis PeCoy taking second and third. It was a strong recovery for the team, which saw all three of its drivers’ qualifying times (including the fastest lap of the session by Alex Keyes) disallowed for rules violations.

SUNDAY RECAP: Keyes nipped Raymond for the pole on Sunday morning, but it didn’t deter the French driver as he resumed his dominance of the weekend immediately. A great start enabled him to win Heat 1B, and with the advantage regained, he never looked back on the way to another dominant win.

After flying into the track from a sports car race in Detroit on Saturday afternoon, Colin Braun followed up on a fourth place finish on Saturday with his first podium of the year on Sunday, placing second. Brooks also returned to the podium in third despite mechanical issues in the heats that forced repairs before the main event.

QUOTES: Driver quotes from Red Bull GRC New England:

Cyril Raymond, #13 Olsbergs MSE X Forces: “What a weekend! I’m dreaming, I really am. I owe a massive thanks to my team – they did a great job throughout and gave me a super-fast car. It might have looked easy from the outside, but I can assure you it’s never easy when you’re inside the car and the pressure is on. I had to push every moment of every lap, but it was worth it – this result is for everybody at Olsbergs MSE X Forces.”

Christian Brooks, #44 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing: “We pushed as hard as we could and we had to start fourth (on Saturday) unfortunately. We had a good pretty start and we had third, made a move to second and Cyril and I were just running the same laps. We just tried to keep it consistent for us. I want to thank all my sponsors and all the guys from Dreyer and Reinbold for the fast race car—thanks for getting me out here.”

Travis PeCoy, #3 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing: “This is the most fun I have had in a rally car. It’s one thing to be on the podium but it’s another to be driving and have a good time. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without the Dreyer and Reinbold guys—they work their butts off. They have two of the fastest cars here on the podium, and (teammate Alex) Keyes is fast too. Christian also did really well and the competition was great out there. It was a good race and I want to thank my family, all the guys, and to everyone who came out.”
