17 year old Kenyan driver Tejas Hirani announced today that he will be competing in the last three rounds of RX Lites Championship including Spain, Turkey and Italy.
Tejas participated in Test Days which was organised by First Corner in Istanbul at the end of last year. Since then, he was waiting for the opportunity to take part in the series at the steer of a SuperCar Lites. He will be the first Kenyan and yet, the first African driver in the World Rallycross arena this year. With some serious experience he has in his hands at Rally Raid and stage rallies as well as Formula BMW Rookie Program at the circuit racing with single seaters, Tejas Hirani will be one of the potential future Rallycross Stars.
At the press conference organised in Nairobi, Kenya, Tejas declared that his target is to be the World Champion. “I’ve been involved in motorsport since I was 9. Through the years, I worked so hard to improve my skills and my speed. As I participated in the test days with an RX Lites in Istanbul last year, I believed that this is the right path to be the World Champion. I know it’s not going to be easy but first I’ll do my best to win the RX Lites rounds and the title. Next step will be the world title since I know that RX Lites is the right series to get there”

RX Lites 2015 season will continue with HellRX in Norway this weekend. The schedule will be followed by Catalunya,Spain; Istanbul,Turkey and Franciacorta, Italy. The winner of 2015 season will have chance to drive a SuperCar prepared by OlsbergsMSE at the last round of WorldRX in St Luis, Argentina.
